Is Lombard (BARD) halal or haram?
Not screened yet
We have not run our Shariah screening on Lombard yet, so we are not giving a ruling on this page. What is below is what we have gathered and checked ourselves, without any AI: where the coin lives, its supply, what its own blockchain says about who can freeze or create coins, and the project's own documents.
What it is
Lombard is building onchain Bitcoin capital markets to unlock the full potential of the defining asset of this generation.
The basics
- Where it lives
- token on ethereum (also on binance-smart-chain)
- Circulating supply
- 363,750,000 BARD
- Maximum supply
- 1,000,000,000 BARD
- Category
- Decentralized Finance (DeFi), BNB Chain Ecosystem, Ethereum Ecosystem
What it runs, and where its revenue goes
Per DefiLlama on 2026-09-22, Lombard runs 3 product lines: Lombard LBTC (Restaked BTC, $1.0M in fees over 30 days); Lombard Vaults (Onchain Capital Allocator, $68K in fees over 30 days); Lombard BTC.b (Bridge).
Per DefiLlama on 2026-09-22, no revenue reached Lombard token holders in the last 30 days.
Figures from DefiLlama. Whether any of this income is permissible is part of our screening.
Who controls the coins
Read from the token's verified contract on Ethereum (0xf0db65d17e30a966c2ae6a21f6bba71cea6e9754) on 2026-09-22: no function in the contract can block, freeze, move or burn a holder's tokens, or pause transfers. It also has mint (capped, held by a 2-of-3 multisig wallet (0x6296…140d)); what these allow is checked at screening. It is not upgradeable.
Whether anyone can freeze a holder's balance, or create new coins, is part of our screening. This much is read straight from the blockchain, so it is already established before any screening runs.
