Is Usual USD (USD0) halal or haram?
Not screened yet
We have not run our Shariah screening on Usual USD yet, so we are not giving a ruling on this page. What is below is what we have gathered and checked ourselves, without any AI: where the coin lives, its supply, what its own blockchain says about who can freeze or create coins, and the project's own documents.
What it is
USD0 is a stablecoin fully backed 1:1 by Real-World Assets (RWA) like US Treasury Bills.
The basics
- Where it lives
- token on ethereum (also on arbitrum-one, base, binance-smart-chain)
- Circulating supply
- 546,584,657 USD0
- Total supply
- 546,584,657 USD0
- Category
- Stablecoins, USD Stablecoin, BNB Chain Ecosystem
Who controls the coins
Read from the token's verified contract on Ethereum (0x73a15fed60bf67631dc6cd7bc5b6e8da8190acf5) on 2026-09-19: it has blacklist (held by an account we could not identify), mint (capped, held by an account we could not identify), burnFrom (held by an account we could not identify), pause (held by an account we could not identify); what these allow is checked at screening. Its code can be replaced by whoever holds the upgrade power.
Whether anyone can freeze a holder's balance, or create new coins, is part of our screening. This much is read straight from the blockchain, so it is already established before any screening runs.
