Track what you own

Most portfolio trackers answer one question: what is this worth today. The Halal Portfolio answers a second one at the same time, which is whether you should be holding it at all.

Enter transactions, not totals

When you add a holding, add the actual buy: how much, at what price, on what date. Then add the next one when you buy again.

This matters more than it sounds. A tracker that stores one number cannot tell you your average cost, and average cost is the only honest basis for a profit figure. Enter three buys at three different prices and the portfolio works out what you actually paid across all of them, then measures gain against that.

If you bought the same coin four times on the way down, that is the number that tells you where you really stand.

The verdict travels with the holding

Every position carries its Shariah verdict beside it, pulled from the same screening database as the rest of the site.

So when a ruling changes, and rulings do change, you find out on the page where you look at your own money rather than by chance. A project that adds a lending product or alters its tokenomics is a different asset to screen, and the portfolio is where that reaches you.

The watchlist is for the other things

Not everything you are interested in is something you own.

Use the watchlist for coins you are researching, waiting on, or arguing with yourself about. It keeps them together without pretending you hold them, which keeps the portfolio numbers clean.

A note on plans

The free account keeps one portfolio, which is enough for most people. Paid plans allow more, mainly so you can keep long-term holdings separate from whatever you are testing. What each plan includes is on the plans page.

In one line: log real transactions, let it work out average cost, and keep the verdict where you will actually see it.

What you can do now

Enter your real transactions rather than a total. Average cost is what makes the profit figure honest, and the verdict travels with the holding.
