How can I act on a bearish view if I cannot short?

Answered by the ShariaQuant team

You sell. Taking profit, moving to cash or a screened stablecoin, and sitting out a downtrend are all positions, and none of them require borrowing an asset you do not own. Being flat during a fall is how spot traders express a bearish view.

This is Shariah screening and education, not financial advice. Rulings on newer products differ between scholars, so where a question is disputed we say so rather than pick a side for you. If your situation is unusual, ask your own scholar.
